Brake Buddy Classic 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System Installation - 2019 GMC Yukon- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we've got a 2019 GMC Yukon, and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Brake Buddy supplemental braking system. The Brake Buddy Classic Three is going to be a portable braking system and it's essentially designed so that you don't have to permanently install anything underneath the hood or on the brake pedal itself to have braking in your vehicle behind your motor home when you're going down the road. This system is also known as a transferable system, so if you decide to get a different vehicle to pull behind your motor home, this is gonna be a great option, because all you're gonna have to do is pull your wiring that you run up to the battery, pull that out, and then install a new breakaway switch and then take your Brake Buddy out and put it on your new car. Now the reason why you want to add a braking system to your vehicle is because motor homes are not designed to just stop dead weight behind them. They are large and they can stop a lot of weight, but that doesn't mean it's safe when you're going down the road, especially if you're going downhills or uphills. more

Today we've got a 2014 Ram 1500, and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Demco Stay-in-Play DUO supplemental braking system. Now, the reason why you'll want to go with any braking system for your Ram 1500 is because, if you're flat-towing your Ram, you want the vehicle to be able to stop itself while the RV is stopping itself. So, the design of the Stay-in-Play DUO is it will apply pressure to the brakes on your Ram 1500, when you depress the brakes on the inside of the RV. This is what your system's gonna look like when it's installed. The main operating unit, which is this box right here, is gonna be the bulk of the installation, outside of the vehicle. more

Today we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Demco Stay and Play Duo Supplemental Braking System on our 2022 Jeep Gladiator. Before we get into it, we're gonna talk about the five main components that are involved in a flat tow in order to safely do it behind your motor home. The first is gonna be your base plate which is going to mount on your vehicle. The second will be your tow bar, which connects the RV to the vehicle and you'll have your braking system your supplemental braking system which helps the vehicle stop behind the motor home so that the motor home doesn't have to do all the braking. You'll have your diode wiring which transfers the lighting signals from your motor home to the back of your vehicle. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Brake Buddy Classic 3 Portable Braking System on a 2018 Ford Explorer. There's five main components when flat towing your Explorer that are gonna be required. Now the first one is gonna be the base plate which is gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle creating a nice structural support for your tow bar to be able to connect from your base plate to the hitch on the RV. Now going along with that, we have our safety chains and that's just in case of an accidental disconnect. It's still gonna keep everything attached and the mounting points are already on the base plate for you. Now, this is gonna be a great option if you have air brakes on your coach, and today it's going on a 2016 GMC Terrain. Now, in flat towing your Terrain, there's gonna be five main components required for flat towing and the first one's gonna be a base plate, and that's gonna be the attachment point for all of your components, and it's attached to the frame of the vehicle, creating a nice sturdy mounting point. Going along with that, you have safety chains, which are in case of a disconnect, it's gonna hold everything together and that way the car's not getting disconnected. Now, between your base plate and the hitch on the RV, you are gonna have your tow bar and that is simply that connection point that allows it to pivot as you're going down the road. more

And you also have a breakaway switch, which is part of your braking system, which is also a component which brings the vehicle to slow and stop when you apply the brakes on the RV and the breakaway switch as if this was to pull, in case of a catastrophic disconnect, it's going to apply the brakes on the vehicle, bringing it to a slow and stop. more

Now there's five main components required when flat towing a vehicle. And starting on the vehicle side it's gonna be your base plate and the base plate is going to attach to the structural frame or at least bumper supports of a vehicle, creating a solid mounting point. It's also gonna create other mounting points for your other components, including your tow bar. Hey everybody, Ryan here at Etrailer, today on our 2020 Buick Encore GX, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Demco Stay-IN-Play supplemental braking system. Before we get into that, though, let's just take a couple minutes to check this out and make sure it's gonna work for ya. Before we jump right in, I figured it'd be useful just to kinda refresh ourselves on the main parts we're gonna need to flat tow our Buick down there in the first place. First part will be the base plate, and that's gonna provide us with a solid and reliable connection point. That way we can hook our tow bar up to it. Tow bar will be the second component, this is gonna be the actual physical link that connects the front of our Buick to the back of our motor home. more

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Demco Stay and Play Duo proportional braking system for a towed vehicle on a 2023 Ford Ranger. Braking system is gonna be one of your required components for flat towing a vehicle and that's because it's states required especially on something that weighs as much as the Ranger. Now what this does is allow you to slow and stop in your RV and the brakes will be applied on your towed vehicle. So that way it's not pushing the vehicle around, it's just gonna make for a much better towing experience. It's like having trailer brakes when pulling a trailer. Now also with that you get safety, because this breakaway cable here, if an accidental disconnect happened, for whatever reason, and the cable is pulled, the brakes are gonna be applied on the towed vehicle bringing it to a stop. more

But before we get into that, why don't we take a minute talk about it and help you understand where this part would come into play. Now with this kit, you're going to be able to avoid damage to your vehicle by ensuring that your supplemental braking system is properly positioned and working effectively. This activates your RV brake monitoring system alerting you whenever your brake pedal in your towed car is applied. Now, other systems operate according to whether the air cylinder is extended and provides no indication of what is happening with the pedal itself. As I mentioned, this is a custom fit part. It fits the 2021 and newer Freightliner Chassis Motorhomes with BrakeSink. Now this is a supplemental braking system that'll apply your tow vehicle's brakes in proportion to your braking action of your RV. Basically, the towed car's brakes are activated at the same time and with the same intensity as those in your motorhome. more
